First things first. I LOVE MIYABI'S HEELS. I'm a guy and I'm saying this. Miyabi's heels = <3
I only found out after checking on theppn I only knew the members of Buono! were not individual members but they were members of Berryz and C-ute. That itself surprised me. I was pretty sceptical at first since I wasn't sure they could involve 3 members from Berryz Kobo and C-ute. I could not see it happening in all honesty since their schedules are pretty busy (training, interviews etc.). So them being in another group really got me interested in how they could cope...and my curiosity won me over. And boy, did they prove me wrong. Kiss!Kiss!Kiss! is extremely catchy and infectious. So infectious that I played it continuously for an hour without getting bored at it...and oogling at Miyabi's heels.
Kiss!Kiss!Kiss! has a funky tune, catchy lyrics and a great use of instruments, especially the harmonica solo which is so epic. More and more groups and artists are using the harmonica now which is brilliant to see such an "unknown" or unused instrument being so widely used. MY GOD THOSE HEELS ARE SEXY. I love how they make the drums so...distinct. Its weird since I have never heard the drums to be so distinct in any poppy song. Its a good change. Plus, its great seeing the girls "play" the instruments, really cute. Especially Momoko hahaha. Her drumming is a bit off but I'll give her points for effort. Haha.
They are in their main groups PLUS they have time to be in a different group. Another thing which underlies me being sceptical was that I'm quite against all these really young girls in photobooks. Yes, this is totally relevant. I was sceptical at watching Namida no Iro and I was even more sceptical watching this. I mean they are 14-16 and they most of them have a photobook of them dressing...rather less in some photos. (I have not seen any photos or own any on my computer of them, I'm deadly honest) Its quite disturbing. Well I know if they're proud of it and all that rubbish. But Up-Front should at least have some underlying morals which won't let these girls be "used" in such a way. Its totally wrong. A 16 year old with a bikini, ok i have no problem with that. But having a 16 year old with a bikini which has been photographed and being sold to the public in a photobook is just disgusting. It's totally wrong. At least be 17-18 and do it, but 14-16 is just far far too young to be doing these kind of things. Even if they are gaining money for it, its just totally totally irrelevant. I'm sure if you're a parent and had a 16 year old daughter you wouldn't allow it. I'd rather eat myself alive than let my 16 year old daughter be publically shown in a bikini in a photobook. Personally I like Hagiwara and Suzuki, and Chisato just from first impressions. But i will never ever look at their photobooks until they have grown to the age which to me, is personally acceptable.
Away from my rant,...but sorry Maize, although i love Miyabi's heels to immense proportions. My loyalties are to Airi. She just looks extremely well-dressed in the PV (minus the heels). The hat, the suspenders, the pins and badges, the tie, the socks, the whole package looks brilliant on her. Even though Momoko and Miyabi are looking...more or less schoolgirls...Airi just blows their "uniforms" to bits. (Maize and Craig are going to kill me for this.)
Their dance was...pretty simplistic to say the least. I want to see the dance shot if they are going to release it. But its not exactly choreographed well, I think more attention was put onto their "uniforms" and rather less on their dance moves. If i was to compare it to lets say, Namida no Iro or Resonant Blue...you can see the difference. It's either them waving the arms or waving their fingers at me saying no, no, no...Why? What am I doing wrong? Tellll meeeee~ But...Resonant Blue does have quite an exquisite use of choreography, which I think the girls couldn't have done since it is quite energy demanding.
And BLHASDJFAFDSLSJFLDS~! I honestly do not understand. WHAT DO THEIR CHEEKS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING? I know i want to squeeze them, less than as much as i want to squeeze JunJun's (maybe Mittsi's too)....BUT WHY? Is it another one of those cute poses. Wait it is. But personally I rather like a cute pose/face which is not forced at all.
Edit: I know what the pose means now.

Lets have a comparison.... Konkon's "pose" vs. Airi's finger to the cheek pose.

I personally love both, but Konkon's seems much more natural compared to Airi's....but both look damn cute...maybe KonKon looks a bit more innocent...but meh...I love KonKon more.
And Momoko? Short and....immature? She's jumping around trying to clean the tallest windows...and she reads a picture book shaped like a bunny? Hmmmmmmmm....Although i love her bow.
Overall? Infectious. Fun. Overall a good listen none the less. The chorus is especially catchy...And you know what's even more glorious? MIYABI'S HEELS. OMG ITS <3
Edit: blogger hates me, whenever i want to change something in this post it fucks it up somehow.

Oh :P Miyabi's heels eh? XD
(Y'know I show my Momo photobooks to my housemate who is a mum and teacher and her reaction is generally positive, she said Momo was lovely.)
*pictures some kind of Sailor Moon style loss of uniform to bits*
AFAIK in Italy when guys do that gesture it means they've seen a pretty girl... So I'm guessing the girls are saying they're pretty :P
That finger/cheek pose can also mean that one has eaten something realllly good. And since Buono! has a whole blog devoted to the foods they eat and such, I assume that's the usage they're going for.
@craig
LOL REALLY? Wow...thats...hmmmmmmm...i guess we have different values i suppose. ahahaha, it just seems wrong to see things like this...until they're old enough. But i guess its just me.
AFAIK? Stands for?
Oh...really? shit no way...well...they wouldn't say they weren't now would they LOL.
@usa-chan
Oh really? they do? Wow...enough time for a blog too? LOL. Ah...devoted to foods, wow...they must eat a lot but it doesn't react to their sizes...Mmmmm nice nice...totally new perspective on the finger on the face pose.
Cheers guys.
It's hard to imagine their music being not the whole "bubbly, poppy" type. I don't know. I don't think I've heard. But they certainly look like they'd sing in the bubbly poppy way.
And lawl music --> girls.
I don't get how Airi's pose is less natural! Minus the finger, her smiling face looks so much more natural than the lip-puckering.
@rilla
Lol, the thing is that it is poppy and bubbly, but im trying to compare it with something which practically defines "poppy and bubbly" if you get what i mean. Blah, im screwing up my words, but fuck it. I like the song. Its infectious and their uniform is full of win. Especially Miya's heels.
ITS IS NOT LAWL MUSIC. 3/4 of my whole discography are female vocalists. And my whole real album collection IS female vocalists. I have no male vocalists. At all.
It just is! Well to me. Its so forced. Konkon...thats just...zomg <3. I could have given comparisons from Kamei's, Gaki's and Takitty's...so many comparisons.
If you want something really poppy, youtube.
Seishun! LOVE Lunch - Athena & Robikerottsu.
LOL.
Yeah, that finger to cheek (and roll it) pose is to express that that the food was great. They use that pose in Italy as already said. Their name is BUONO after all so it's pretty logical. That signature pose and that blog devoted to food are related to their name. I really like their food-centric image. :)
I agree with you about the photobooks. I'm a girl so it isn't the same for me... But the idea that those young girls are just sold like that isn't right in my opinion. Personally I love idea of photobooks (beautiful photos of your favourite artists easily available for all fans in a handy book) but I can't understand why they (at least the younger ones) couldn't have photobooks without all the bikini shots and suggestive poses. I would love to see them wearing a bit more.
@andra
Ah good good, i see i see, i totally get it now, ah so they love their foods eh.
Ah, yes! someone who shares the same views as me...well, a lot of people probably do but they haven't spoken out...ahahaha. I totally know what you mean, i love photobooks, like of gaki, kamei etc...but when the girls are a bit too young and showing a bit too less then the problem occurs. Like if they had cute costumes on like the sailor moon costume craig was talking about i would be totally fine. But....
You do know I'm Cheryl right?
I wasn't meaning "lawl music". It was more like, "lawl, music --> girls".
